Little Darlings terms and conditions

Thank you for choosing Little Darlings. These terms explain how ordering works, what you can expect from me, and what I need from you. I've kept them as short and simple as I can. If anything is unclear, please contact me and I'll be happy to help.

Who I am

Little Darlings is run by me, Catherine, an illustrator and sole trader based in the UK. I create personalised nursery prints using watercolour and digital painting.

The easiest way to reach me is through my contact form.

What I sell

All prices are in pounds sterling (GBP). Free tracked delivery is included on all physical prints.

Placing an order

1. You request a free proof using my free proof form. There's nothing to pay at this stage.
2. I create your free proof and email it to you, often within an hour, but it can take up to 24 hours.
3. Love it? You choose your size and pay securely through PayPal. You can pay by debit or credit card without a PayPal account, use Apple Pay or Google Pay, or use your PayPal account.
4. Your order is accepted once I've received your payment and confirmed your order with you.
5. Once you've paid, you get up to 3 rounds of tweaks to your proof.
6. When you approve your proof, your print is printed and posted to you with free tracked delivery.

By requesting a free proof or placing an order, you agree to these terms and to my privacy policy.

Your free proof

• I'll email you one free proof of your print, often within an hour, but it can take up to 24 hours. Your free proof comes with no obligation to buy. Free proofs are for genuine orders. I may decline repeat requests that look like misuse.
• Your free proof doesn't include any tweaks. Tweaks start once you've paid.
• Once you've paid, up to 3 rounds of tweaks to your proof are included in the price.
• All proofs are watermarked and low resolution. They are for checking your design only and may not be used or printed.
• Further rounds, or bigger changes (for example a completely new design), may cost extra or be treated as a fully custom piece. I'll always tell you before any extra cost and you can decide whether to go ahead.

Please check your proof carefully

Please check every spelling, name, date, time, weight, length and other detail on your proof very carefully before you approve it.

Once you approve your proof, it is final and goes straight to print. I can't offer a refund or a reprint because of a mistake in a proof you've approved, so please take your time.

Printing and delivery

• Your print is made by my trusted print partner in their professional print labs and sent from the lab nearest to you:
  • UK orders are printed in and sent from the UK
  • Ireland, EU, Norway and Switzerland orders are printed in and sent from the Netherlands
  • USA orders are printed in and sent from the USA
  • Australia orders are printed in and sent from Australia
• I deliver only to the UK, Ireland, EU countries, Norway, Switzerland, the USA and Australia.
• Delivery times are estimates in working days. They start once you approve your proof and include printing and posting. You can find them in my delivery times guide.
• Every order is tracked. I'll send you your tracking link as soon as I have it.
• If you place more than one order to the same address around the same time, your prints may arrive together in one parcel or separately. Each parcel is tracked.
• Once your parcel is with the carrier, I can't control how quickly it travels, so I'm not responsible for delays caused by the carrier. I will always help you chase a late parcel.
• Digital files are sent by email once you approve your proof.

Customs and import charges

Some countries charge import VAT, duties or handling fees when a parcel arrives, for example Norway and Switzerland. These charges are set by your country and are paid by the person receiving the parcel. They are not included in my prices.

Returns and cancelling

Because every print is personalised just for you, I can't offer returns, and the usual 14-day right to cancel under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations does not apply to personalised items.

• Before you pay: you'll see a free proof first, with no obligation to buy. If it's not for you, there's nothing to pay.
• After you pay: you get up to 3 rounds of tweaks, so we can get every detail right before you approve your proof.
• Love it or your money back: your first proof is free, with nothing to pay. If you've paid and you're not happy with any of your proofs, just tell me before you approve and I'll give you a full refund. Once you approve your proof, it goes straight to print, so I can't offer a refund after that.
• Once you approve your proof: it's final and goes straight to print. Your order can't be cancelled, and I can't offer a refund or reprint because of a mistake in a proof you've approved.
• Digital files: I can't offer a refund once your digital file has been delivered.

This doesn't affect your rights if your print arrives damaged or faulty (see below).

Damaged, faulty or lost prints

I want your print to arrive perfect. If it arrives damaged or faulty, please send me the following through my contact form within 7 days of delivery:

• clear photos of the damaged print
• clear photos of the packaging
• the name your order was placed under

I'll then arrange a free reprint or a refund.

If your parcel goes missing, I'll sort it out once the tracking shows it as lost.

None of this affects your statutory rights.

Colours and texture

I work hard to make sure your print looks as close as possible to your proof. Colours can look slightly different on screen and in print, because every screen shows colour a little differently. My illustrations also use watercolour, so the texture can vary. These small differences are part of the charm and are not a fault.

Copyright and how you can use your print

• All my artwork and designs are mine, and I keep the copyright in them, including your personalised design.
• Your print and digital file are for your own personal, non-commercial use. Please don't sell, copy for others, or use them for business purposes.
• I may show examples of designs I've made, for example on my website and social media. I'll never show your child's surname or full birth details.

Share your print

I love seeing my prints in their new homes. If you send me photos of your print, or tag me in them on social media, I'd love to share them. If you tag me, I may reshare your post. I may share photos of your print, with surnames hidden. I'll never share photos of your child, and I'll always ask first before sharing anything else. If you'd like a photo taken down, just contact me and I'll remove it.

As a thank you, if you share a photo of your print on social media and tag Little Darlings (@littledarlingsart on Instagram), I'll send you a code for £10 off your next purchase once I've seen your post. There's one code per customer.

Your personal information

I look after your personal information carefully. By requesting a free proof or placing an order, you also agree to my privacy policy, which explains how I collect and use your information.

Changes to these terms

I may update these terms from time to time. The terms that apply to your order are the ones shown when you placed it.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the law of the part of the UK where I am based. If you live in the UK, you can bring a claim in the courts where you live. Nothing in these terms affects your consumer rights under the law where you live.
